Joy for Jessie was inspired by 12 year old Jessica “Joy” Rees who decided to spread joy to kids at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County while she fights her own inoperable brain tumor. Torch Club wanted to help Jessica’s dream of reaching children across the United States with her JoyJars. In order to help Jessica raise the money necessary to fund this project, the Torch Club has stepped in to do several fundraisers on her behalf. So far, the Torch Club has sold hot chocolate, cupcakes, cookies, and chocolate covered banana’s. The goal for the project is to donate 500 dollars to cover the costs for 25 jars. Each member has even asked if they can just donate their own money. READ MORE

Club Zoom is an experience unlike any other. This science club opens up new opportunities and ideas to the members and allows them to do hands-on activities while exploring the world they live in. When handling the ice, the members used winter gloves to make sure they didn’t burn their hands. During the experiments we dropped dry ice into warm water the smoke we saw was a combination of carbon dioxide and water vapor. The gas we saw was actually a cloud of tiny water droplets. READ MORE
