Many Club members involved in Beyond the Box Club have been working over the past few months to create submissions for the Photo Tech and Music Making sections of Boys & Girls Club of Americas National Digital Arts Festival. Our local Photo Tech winners are: Christiana Darby, Alec Fritchmann, Katherine Outhwaite, & Abigail Webb. Our Music Making winner is Anastasia Giourgas. Members had fun last week starting  to create their stop-motion animations for the movie-tech category, which will take place in February. Read More Here) On Saturday, November 5th, from 11 am- 6pm, the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach partnered with their local Taco Bell for a fundraiser to support The Club’s Keystone Teen Leadership Program. A portion of the proceeds from each purchase went to the teens at the Boys & Girls Club to help them fundraise for the National Keystone Teen Leadership Conference. Keystone is a leadership development program with three focus areas: academic success & career community service and teen outreach. The teens got work experience behind the counter at the Taco Bell in Laguna Beach on PCH and even the chance to dress up in a taco costume and sauce packet costume to promote their fundraiser. They took orders, practiced their customer service skills, and helped maintain the restaurant. “It was awesome. I felt important when I was helping,” said Amanda Jeffress, a teen that regularly attends The Club. READ MORE

The Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach Main Branch broke its record for summer attendance! The percentage of youth attending the club this summer was up by 12%, demonstrating the impact that the club has had on the community. Over the past three months, club members were engaged in a variety of enriching summer programs and had a whole lot of fun at the Club. READ MORE

Members are testing just how adventurous they are as they explore Orange County with weekly field trips to exciting Orange County destinations. The Club kicked off with an exciting field trip to Irvine Regional Park, where members went bike riding. This week members hit the water on kayaks and got up close and personal with seals and pelicans. The adventures will continue through the summer as members get to look forward to snorkeling, trampoline jumping at Ski High Sports, and a Ropes Course that includes an exciting zip-line over a canyon!
