Bullying Essay
Kylee Friederichs
7th Grade
I’ve had my own experience with bullying, and I’ll tell you, it’s not fun, whether you’re the one being bullied, or the one who’s bullying. Today, October 10th, the schools of Laguna Beach are wearing orange to support that we are against bullying, and I am one of those supporters. I’ve been bullied once before. I was walking to a table at school where all my friends were at, and these three 8th grade boys were walking in the same isle way, and when I walked by, I felt a push from one of them, and a trip from another. By the time my friends helped me up, they (the boys) were long gone. I had told my counselor at Thurston Middle School, and she was right on it. She told me “If they did it to you, then there is probably no doubt that they’ve done it before.” She told everyone in the office, and all of the people who watch us at break and lunch. It was then that I realized, and I mean actually realized that I am so lucky to be in such a great school in such a great and beautiful city known as Laguna Beach, and that I have such amazing friends that love and support me. Another way to show that I support anti-bullying is by pledging to be an up-stander and not a by-stander. Everyone gets bullied once in a while, but we can prevent that. Everyone has a voice, and they can use it. When someone bullies someone else, basically, they are just masking their insecurities with aggression. You can just walk away if someone tries to bully you, and if they keep bugging you, tell and adult. You have a voice, and you have to power to make a great choice. READ MORE
