On Saturday March 31st, Club members participated in Boys & Girls Clubs in Orange County’s annual Unity Day. The event brought 4 clubs and over 50 kids from all over Orange County to enjoy face paint, a bounce house, dodge ball, relay races, and barbecue at Boys & Girls Club of Garden Grove. SMART GIRLS love to dance! On Tuesday, the teens in the the Smart Girls program participated in a special dance class. They did Zumba and jazz, and most importantly, learned how to properly stretch. The girls learned several stretches and the benefits that it can have on your health. The girls had a blast coming up with their own dance routine and tearing up the dance floor! Smart Girls is a program where young women are encouraged and empowered to be themselves and develop stronger skills in decision making. They meet every Tuesday from 4-5 pm. READ MORE

Geste recently returned to TLC after a 3 year hiatus. His excellent manners not only helped his group of friends transform their behavior, but quickly earned him a spot as Member of the Month. Way to go, Geste!
Sara is well known at TLC for her friendly demeanor. Whenever a new Kinder joins, we can trust Sara to help him or her out! The staff at TLC have enjoyed watching her blossom into a well-mannered, responsible young lady. READ MORE
Cooking Club is a new program at TLC that focuses on the abilities of 5 year olds so that everyone can participate and be successful. From guacamole to fruit salads and sandwiches, TLC members are learning to meet their immediate nutritional needs in a healthy and creative way - without adult supervision! Members add a new recipe to their mini-cookbooks each week, allowing everyone to take away from the program what they contributed to making. Bon appetit! READ MORE
Twice a week, all first graders are participating in Garden Club and Cooking Club. On Monday, first grade began harvesting chard, beets and lettuce from the club garden. The organic vegetables will be cooked for all club members, in order encourage healthy eating habits. Next week, Garden Club will plant seeds and learn to take care of their plant until it is harvested and cooked. READ MORE
