Important Club Update
March 13, 2020
Dear Club Families, Community Partners, and Volunteers,
It is important that you know the safety and protection of the children that we serve is the number one priority of Boys & Girls Clubs of Laguna Beach. We are doing everything possible to keep our Club members, staff, and volunteers protected from the COVID-19 virus. We continue to monitor all updates from the (CDC), local health care agencies, LBPD, and the School Districts we serve for updated information and will provide additional guidance to our families, community partners and volunteers as we learn more.
Due to recent cases and health concerns, we have decided to close our Club and suspend all programs, transportation services, and sports leagues i.e. basketball and Angles RBI. Closures are in effect as of March 16th, 2020: (Club Preschool, Bluebird Enrichment Center, Canyon Enrichment Center, and El Toro Park). As an organization our team will be emailing our families, at least on a weekly basis with any updates that we receive as well as providing tips and activities for kids to do.
During our Club closure, we will (thoroughly clean, disinfect, restock sanitation supplies) to prevent possible exposure to the virus. This closure ensures all kids, staff, and volunteers are safe when the Club reopens and all programs, transportation services, and sports leagues resume. We are also exploring possibilities of providing additional online support for members to get homework assistance, etc. while schools are closed.
We will update you with any information immediately as we fully understand the implications our closure has on both your child and family. We will keep you informed as to when our official reopening date will be. Boys & Girls Clubs of Laguna Beach is the only place that some of our families in our community can turn to when schools are closed.
In the meantime, we are advising all our Club staff, families and youth to continue to take preventative measures as recommended by the CDC. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact CEO, Pam Estes pame@bgclaguna.org and COO, Addie McHale addiem@bgclaguna.org.We will continue to update you with any new information we receive.
As always, our commitment to our Club members and their families is unwavering.
Sincerely,
Pam Estes
Chief Executive Officer
